These beautiful beads feature a dusty teal base glass, decorated with colorful crushed glass in coordinating shades, with a layer of fine silver that dissipates into tiny droplets between the colors. Rich caramel, aqua, green, and a touch of glimmering goldstone are all present in these beads, evoking the serene and vibrant colors of the beach. Each bead measures approximately 7x13mm and has a hole size of 3/32″ (2.4mm). This set, including two beads, is perfect for earrings or any jewelry design. They will arrive carefully packaged to ensure safe delivery.
You will receive the exact beads shown in the photographs.
The beads are annealed in a digitally controlled kiln to ensure lasting strength and durability. I take great care to clean, inspect, and package each bead with the same attention to detail that goes into making them. I hope you enjoy using these beads in your own individual jewelry designs!
A little bit about lampwork beads and why they are so special…
Lampwork beads are handmade glass beads created through a centuries-old process called lampworking. In this process, colorful glass rods are melted using a torch, and the molten glass is wound around a steel rod to form the basic shape of the bead. Once the bead is formed, it is embellished with various techniques and materials, creating unique and one-of-a-kind designs.
The term “lampwork” originates from the early use of oil lamps as a heat source during the beadmaking process. While modern torches are now used, the term continues to honor this historical technique.
To ensure durability, beads are cooled in a kiln where temperatures are carefully regulated. The beadmaker “soaks” the beads at a high temperature to ensure even heating, followed by a slow cooling process to bring them to room temperature. This process, known as kiln annealing, strengthens and enhances the durability of the beads, ensuring they will last in your jewelry creations.
